Built in Christchurch and based on the successful Thompson 750 Sports Boat, the Thompson 7500 TY design has adapted the latest in canting keel technology for use in a trailer yacht. While a large number of trailer yachts have keels that retract by swinging fore and aft, this is the first time in New Zealand that a trailer yacht has been designed with a keel that is capable of being moved from side to side. It is expected that this yacht will be seen in Canterbury waters later in the 2014/2015 season.
